How do I run a Net as a Net Control Operator?
Use Weekly Nets to start your assigned repeater session, record check-ins, and finish its log.
This guide covers the website log, not the on-air procedure. Sign in to the Member Hub and open Weekly Nets, then choose Run Net. You must be assigned to the session (or have Weekly Net Administration access) to start or edit a real net. If you do not see the controls, ask a Weekly Net Administrator to check your assignment. You can practice first in Weekly Nets → Sandbox; practice changes do not affect real nets and disappear when you leave or refresh.
1. On Run Net, select the correct session date and the Shoals or Loogootee repeater. Review the Opening script & announcements. Use Print script / log if you want a paper copy. Follow the club-approved script and your normal on-air net procedure.
2. When the on-air net begins, confirm the actual operator name and callsign. If you want your own check-in recorded now, select Record actual net control as checked in. Choose Start net & freeze roll call. The roll-call preview becomes a fixed list for this week's nets.
3. Work through each roll-call station. Select Checked in when the station responds, or No response when it does not. If you tap Checked in a second time by mistake, that station returns to Not called. Use Edit details for Late, Short time, No comment, or a note.
4. For a station outside the roll call, use Open check-in: enter the callsign, add any known name or public location and optional details, then choose Add check-in. A recognized callsign uses the existing identity and can update its roll-call row. If you did not record your own attendance at the start, use Check in actual net control.
5. Before finishing, check that every roll-call station is marked Checked in or No response. Open Finish Shoals net or Finish Loogootee net and choose Finalize this repeater. The button stays unavailable while any station is Not called. Repeat the process for the other repeater if you are assigned to run both. You can review completed logs under History. If a saved action fails, use Retry exact save or Refresh saved data and check the result before continuing.
